Kelly F. Overton, 57, of Odon, IN, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born in Daviess Co. on August 26, 1958, to Fred Overton and Mary Janice (Freed) Balogh.

Kelly was a photographer for the Washington Times Herald newspaper in Washington for several years.  He thoroughly enjoyed photographing his grandchildren during those special moments and also Cardinals baseball. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and his family has requested that if anyone attending his funeral wanting to wear Cardinal colors that would honor him.

Survivors include his parents, Fred Overton of Odon and Mary Janice Balogh of Evansville, son Zach (Emily) Overton of Terre Haute, daughter, Mandy (Evan) Smith of Coalmont; three grandchildren, Adalyn and Aven Smith, Easton Overton; two sisters, Shelly Overton of Evansville and Jane (Jake) Scott of Terre Haute.

The Overton family has selected the Diabetes Foundation for memorials.

Funeral services will be held at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, IN on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 10:30 AM with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday and prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements have been in trusted to James W. Meng, Jr. and Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon.  Kelly will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora, IN.
