Kenneth E. Ballard, 85, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was a life-long resident of Linton born on July 20, 1921, to Henry and Maude (Raymer) Ballard. On July 26, 1946, he married Rose M. Clayton.

Kenny was a veteran of the US Marine Corps who served during WWII. He later became an accountant and retired in 1987. He was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #22. Kenny was an avid golfer and won the Greene County Tournament in both 1951 and 1953.

Survivors include his wife, Rose M. Ballard, two sons: Mark A. (Louise) Ballard MD of Cave Creek AZ, and David E. Ballard of Titusville, FL and two grandchildren: Lindsey and April Ballard. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

For those who wish to make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, the family has named the American Heart Association.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2007 and at the Linton First Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Thursday, July 12, 2007. Funeral services will be held at the church Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM. with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Military Honors will be given immediately following the funeral ceremony at the church. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a later date, following cremation.
