Kenneth 'Kenny' Ray Spurlin, 72, passed peacefully from this life on August 25, 2025, in Elnora, Indiana. He was born on December 12, 1952, in Vincennes, Indiana, and raised by William 'Bill' and Lena Mottern. Kenneth married his loving wife, Mary Ellen (Woodward) Spurlin on September 17, 2016.

Kenny was a member of the Guerney Masonic Lodge #778. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, a corrections officer, and worked with handicapped children. Aside from work, Kenny enjoyed the outdoors, working in his garden, hunting, fishing, and caring for his horse. While living in Florida, he worked on cattle ranches and would participate in the occasional bull ride.

Those left to cherish memories of Kenny include his wife, Mary Ellen Spurlin; sons, Kenny Ray Spurlin Jr., David Spurlin, Brian Spurlin, Jeremy, Stephen, Robert Robertson; daughter, Journey Ali; brothers, Albert Lee Bement, Chris Bement, Tracy Mottern; sister, Tomi; as well as several grandchildren and cousins.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allen Bement; and stepbrother, Troy Mottern

Funeral Services to honor Kenny's life will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Brian Woodward officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, at the funeral home.
