Kermit D. Arney, 74, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away with loved ones at his side, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. He was born on December 22, 1945 in Daviess County, Indiana to Edward and Thelma (Wilson) Arney. Kermit married Cheryl (Eubanks) Arney on January 15, 1964.

Kermit was the owner/ operator of Arney's Trash Service and Arney's Lawn and Garden. He retired in 2010.

Family left to cherish the memory of Kermit include: one son, Brian (JJ) Arney of Elnora; granddaughter, Mackenzie Arney of Elnora; one brother, Verlin (Leoka) Arney of Elnora; two sisters, Betty (Chester) Chattin of Loogootee and Shirley (Don) Bair of Bloomfield.

Kermit was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Cheryl Arney; infant daughter, Anitra Jo Arney and one sister, Norma (Robert) Winkel.

Funeral services to honor the life of Kermit will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Kermit will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 26 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Kermit. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
