IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Killeen Ann
(Thomas) Hinkle
September 14, 1956 – December 29, 2025
Killeen Ann Hinkle, age 69, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who left us too early. Killeen, born in September 1956, led a life marked by resilience, love, and an unmatched sense of humor.
She was married to her loving husband Jacky Hinkle for 27 years. They shared a love of gardening, grandkids, and creating a home. Killeen had a generous heart and along with her husband dedicated her time and resources to Chihuahua animal rescue. Killeen was quick-witted and loved to laugh. She prided herself in not taking life too seriously and taught that to those around her. She loved all things fall and was an ardent fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football and the San Francisco 49ers.
Killeen maintained jobs outside and inside the home. As a single mom in the early 90s, she put herself through beauty school and graduated first in her class. She later transitioned to a role as an office manager where she was able to use her gift of organization, coordination, and a meticulous eye for detail. Inside the home she loved to decorate, craft, and cook for her family. She loved scents and her grandchildren would say the house always smelled like candles and popcorn. She left a small fortune of Yankee Candles behind that will warm her children's homes with the smell of Meemaw and Pappy's house. She frequently said "what goes around comes around" and "sometimes life isn't fair". Her legacy of overcoming adversity with hard work, determination, and love continues to inspire all who loved her.
She leaves behind a family that includes her devoted husband, Jacky Hinkle, sisters, Terri Hollis and Mary (William) Durstein, her children, Dale (Nicole) Preston, Renee (Curtis) Stratton, and Amanda (Michael) Styer. Her laughter and innate ability to bring joy will be carried on by grandchildren, Reagan Styer, Cole Styer, Ian Guthrie, Connor Guthrie, Paige Preston, Landon Preston, Noah Preston, Julius Preston, Solomon Preston, Savana (William) Rodriguez, Dakota Henry, and Cheyenne Henry.
Killeen was preceded in death by her loving father, Jack Thomas and her brothers, Jack and Jimmy Thomas of Huntington, West Virginia.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring, details will be sent by the family at a later date.
The family would like to thank Kobacker House Hospice for their care and hospitality.
Arrangements and care were entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at www.mengfuneralhome.com.
