Obituary

L. Ray Hart, 89, of Washington, Indiana, passed away at his home, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. He was born on March 2, 1933 in Odon, Indiana to Charles E. and Opal L. (Hunter) Hart. Ray married his wife of 66 years, Mary M. (Clarke) Hart on June 29, 1956.

Ray was a US Army Veteran and a member of the Plainville Lions Club. He was the owner/ operator of Ray Hart and Sons Construction, retiring in 2002 with 50 years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Ray include: his wife, Mary Hart; four sons, Bill (Pam) Hart of Plainville, Jeffrey (Julie) Hart of Evansville, Michael Hart of Greenville, SC and Joseph (Maggie) Hart of Saudi Arabia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Killion of Washington and Judy (Kenny) Hedrick, of Mount Vernon, IN.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Harold Killion.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Julie Hart officiating. Ray will be laid to rest in Sugarland Cemetery Mausoleum in Washington following Military Graveside Rites by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon at the funeral home.
