LaDona J. Whited, 87, of Laurinburg, NC, formerly of Linton and Sullivan, IN, passed from this life with family by her side on Saturday, March 21, 2026. She was born on May 2, 1938, in Merom, IN, to Ralph E. and Lois Virginia (Hoesman) Williams.

Known lovingly as “Nanny,” LaDona was a devoted homemaker and mother who cherished spending time with her family and friends. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), caring for others with compassion and dedication. She completed her degrees at the age of 50 and was proud to have done so. She was a member of The Pentecostal Church of Sullivan, where she played the piano and organ for many years.

Family left to cherish the memories of LaDona include her son, Tom (Robin) McKain of Sullivan; her daughter, Sondra (McKain) Graves of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Brittany (Randy) Schofield, Justin (Alli) McKain, Austin (Christy) Graves, and Kayli (Dawson) Shelley; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Karon Snyder of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.

LaDona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Whited; her sisters, Yvonne Meng and Janet Monk; and her son-in-law, Randy Graves.

Funeral services honoring LaDona’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel with Pastor Randy Easton officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Pentecostal Church of Sullivan, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
