Loretta K. Byrer, 81, of Odon, Indiana, passed from this life, on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on May 29, 1943 in Washington, Indiana to Aldus and Vivian Ruth (Kirk) Chestnut.

Loretta was a member of the 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She worked at RCA for 33 years and then West Boggs Park for 18 years before retiring.

Family left to cherish the memories of Loretta include: one son, Herschel R. (Sheila) Byrer of Odon; three grandchildren, Kelly Carr, Cindy Kelsey and Jessi Hampton; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Floyd, Brittney Payne and Brandon Karns; four great-great-grandchildren, Bristol Benton, Bryston Benton, Madilyn Karns and Luka Karns; one sister, Vivian Chestnut of Bloomington.

Loretta was preceded in death by: her husband, Irven Byrer; one great-grandson, Brian Benton and sister, Helen Chestnut.

Graveside services will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon with Ken Chestnut officiating.
