Mabel (Ann) Phyllis Pateman Strange, 89, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born on June 23, 1926 in Luton, England to Sidney Boyce and Annie Mae Pateman. Mabel was married to Gilbert Anthony Strange who passed away in 1966.

Mabel retired from Loogootee Textile. She enjoyed flowers and her cats.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Ann (Lonnie) Green of Elnora and Becky Ann (Ron) Parsons of Odon; seven grandchildren, Cheryl Haney, Linda Potts, Kim O'Haver, Shane Parsons, Matthew Strange and Jacob Strange; nine great-grandchildren, Dempson Haney, Tyler Haney, Brayton Haney, Kaylee Potts, Jordan O'Haver, Hannah O'Haver, Bailee Parsons and Carleigh Parsons; several nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by: her husband, Gilbert Strange; one son, Lee Charles Strange; one grandchild, Gib Strange; an infant great-grandchild, Emerson Strange; two brothers, Albert and Bill Pateman; three sisters, Beatrice, Linda and Edna.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. John's Cemetery in Loogootee with Rev. Rick Parsons officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
