Margaret L. 'Peggy' Inman, 67, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 5, 2016 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 27, 1948 in Daviess County, Indiana to Joseph Clinton and Doris L. (McRoberts) Inman.
Peggy was a member of the Warren United Church of Christ. She worked as a hairdresser, retiring in 1992, was an Election Officer in Wabash County and did volunteer work for the American Heart Association. Peggy loved collecting artwork from the Battle of the War of 1812 and attending battle reenactments in Grant County of that war. She was a master pie baker who also enjoyed collecting antiques, refinishing furniture, basket weaving, caning and making blankets for her children and grandchildren. The thing that she enjoyed most was taking care of her home and family.
Survivors include: one son, Jonathan Michael (Cindi) Eager of Lafayette, IN; one daughter, Kathy Lynn (Carl) Shumpert of Peru, IN; grandchildren, Dylan Lynch, Collin Riddle, Sophia Eager and Jackson Eager; her mother, Doris Inman of Bloomfield; two brothers, John Clinton (Teresa) Inman of Clinton, SC and Michael J. (Sue Ellen) Inman of Lynchburg, VA; one sister, Jennifer Jo Inman (Frank) Little of Bean Station, TN; other special family members, Gary Linn and wife, Susan Dawes Eager of Mitchell, IN.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Joseph C. Inman.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Rev. Charly Dye officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest in Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 9 at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
