Martha Jane Bough, 83, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born on June 3, 1938 in Switz City, Indiana to Clarence R. and Martha E. (Hart) Bovenschen. Martha married the love of her life, Cletus D. Bough on September 1, 1956.

Martha was of the Christian faith and spent many years serving the Lord alongside her husband. She worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken for 15 years, retiring in 1991. Martha enjoyed working crossword puzzles and loved her canary. The highlight of her day was watching The Golden Girls, so much that she had every episode memorized.

Family left to cherish the memories of Martha include: two sons, Robert (Autumn) Bough of West Baden and Allen (Ann) Bough of Lyons; four daughters, Nelda (Roy) Eddy of Worthington, Regina (Don) Keller of Lyons, Jodeana (Randy) Raney of Worthington and Donna (Joe) Shelton of Plummer; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Rev. Cletus Bough; grandson, Donovan Dale Keller; brother, John Bovenschen; sisters, Iva Spurlin and Lola Faye (Francis) Dayhoff.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Martha will be laid to rest next to her husband in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Newberry.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
