Martha I. Pitcher, 82, of Sandborn, Indiana passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Sullivan Community Hospital. She was born October 26, 1924 in Brooklyn, Indiana, she was the daughter of Walter and Eliza Fay (Fry) Lind. Martha married Sherman L. Mike Pitcher on May 16 1942. She was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church and an Order of Eastern Star Chapter #140 of Odon, Indiana. Martha was a homemaker and also worked at General Electric for 28 years before retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her son; Roger L. Pitcher of Jasper, IN, two daughters; Theresa M. Slaven and Mary Jo Asher of Sandborn, IN, grandchildren; Tina Snow of Linton, IN; Brian Asher of Shoals, IN; Lisa Reed of Odon; Jason Pitcher of Jasper, IN and Becky Laughlin of Odon, IN, ten great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Mike Pitcher on March 14, 2000, two sisters and one brother. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM EST at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton. Larry Martin will officiate and burial will follow in Sandborn, Cemetery in Sandborn, Indiana. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 PM EST, Thursday, December 14, 2006 and Friday, December 15, 2006 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
