Martha June Steele, 92, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, Indiana. She was born on March 25, 1929 in Daviess County, Indiana to Damon and Mary (Cunningham) Vertrees. June married Richard G. Steele on December 27, 1948.

June was a member of the Triads Singing Group in Linton. She enjoyed working for many years as a teacher's aide at Linton High School and Elnora Grade School.

Family left to cherish the memory of June include two sons, Brad Steele of Elnora and Grant Steele of French Lick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Richard Steele and two brothers, Leo Vertrees and Carol Vertrees.

June was laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.
