Marvin O. Jolliff, 86, of Elnora, Indiana died on Friday, July 10, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 11, 1940, in Elnora, Indiana to Gariel and Estelle (Williams) Jolliff.
Marvin as a teenager joined the Mud Pike Church where he was the song leader. He graduated from Elnora High School and Purdue University. He was a 10 year 4-H member, served as a state FFA Officer, and was awarded the American Farmer Degree. He was a member of multiple Tractor Pulling Associations and had served as a North Daviess School board member. Marvin was a member of the Plainville Lions Club. He loved playing bridge with friends and family.
On September 11, 1959, Marvin took Ruth Myers as they were united in marriage. From this marriage they were blessed with two children. Later Ruth passed from this life on July 30, 2017. Later in August 2020, Marvin was blessed with another wife, Debbie Cardwell and she survives. Family members who also cherish the memories of Marvin are his children Phil (Sara) Jolliff and Diane (William) Erdman, both of Elnora. Stepchildren, Brian (Jenny) Bump, Candy (Dustin) Vauple, Dave (Susan) Bump. Grandchildren, Paul (Kate) Erdman, Glenna Jolliff, Karl (Sara) Erdman, Dwain (Emilee) Jolliff. Great-grandchildren, Mia Erdman, Raelynn Kaiser, Wyatt Kaiser, Lainey Jolliff, William Erdman II and Jonathan Erdman.
Marvin was preceded by death by his parents, and his first wife, Ruth (Myers) Jolliff.
Marvin’s funeral service will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Odon United Methodist Church on Highway 58 in Odon, Indiana, with his daughter Diane Erdman and Ron Woodruff officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Odon United Methodist Church from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, until the time of the funeral. Burial will follow at Elnora Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elnora Fairview Cemetery Fund.
