Mary Ann Green, 80, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away with family by her side on July 30, 2026, at her home. She was born on July 31, 1945, in Ayrshire, Scotland, to Gilbert and Mabel Strange. She grew up in Loogootee, Indiana and graduated from St. John’s High School with the Class of 1963.

Mary Ann was married to James Errol Williams on July 3, 1965, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Loogootee. They were blessed with two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Linda Kay. They were married for 26 years before Jim passed away on June 21, 1991, at the age of 45. Mary Ann later married Lonnie Green on July 11, 1998, enjoying 23 years together until he passed away on May 5, 2021.

Mary Ann attended Pleasant Hill Church in Odon and was a member of the Van Buren Homemakers Club from 1965 to 2024. She worked at Loogootee Textile for 20 years and then retired from Nasco in Washington with 30 years of service. She was a talented seamstress. Mary Ann loved all animals, especially her cats. She liked to sew, work in her flower garden, go golf cart riding and go out to eat with her friends. Most of all, Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, calling her grandkids and great grandkids, her ‘little miracles’.

Family left to remember the memories of Mary Ann include: two daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Haney and Linda (Rodney) Potts; step-daughter, Jamie (Darrell) Wagler; grandsons, Dempson (Amy) Haney III, Tyler (Sarah) Haney, Brayton Haney and Isaac Wagler; granddaughter, Kaylee (Dakota) Meyers; great-grandsons, Dempson IIII, Grayden and Sawyer; great-granddaughters, Adaline, Lily, Gretchen and Opal; sister, Becky (Ron) Parsons; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jim Williams; second husband, Lonnie Green; brother, Lee Strange and his wife, Becky.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mary Ann will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Meng Family Funeral home in Odon with Brenden Dyer officiating. Mary Ann will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015, Friends for Animals or the Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
