Mary Lavon Hedden, 85, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at The Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. She was born October 28, 1939 in Daviess County, Indiana to Charles Wesley and Eva Marie Williams. Mary married the love of her life, Darrell 'Bud' Hedden, on June 16, 1956.

Mary attended the 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church in Odon. She was a former manager at Wicks and Sticks in Vernon Hills, Illinois. Outside of work, she was a member of the Board of Education in Mundelein, Illinois district 75, and the President of the Welcome Wagon in Hammond, Indiana.

Family left to cherish the memories of Mary include her son, James Hedden and wife Sarah of Red House, WV; her daughters, Nanette Hedden and husband Richard Mitchell of Lake Villa, IL, Holly Hedden and husband Brent Fisk of Bowling Green, KY; her grandchildren, Andy Hedden and partner Popi Sarma, Ariel Niemann and husband Taylir Niemann, Lauren Vasilatos and husband Dalton Vasilatos and Sydney Ward and husband Jimmy Ward; great-grandson, Levi Niemann and sister, Leona (Lee) Zeyen of Rochester, IN.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bud Hedden; her parents; grandson Gregory John Mitchell; brother Charles Williams and sister Rose Webster.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 21, at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with family officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 21 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
