Mitchell John ‘Mike’ Reed, 86, of Odon, Indiana, formerly Bloomington, Indiana, passed from this life, on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Parkview Village Christian Care at Odon. He was born on May 2, 1940, in Bloomfield, Indiana to John and M. Pauline (Ockerman) Reed. Mike married Teresa (Maryfield) Reed on December 17, 1989.

Mike was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of the Odon VFW Post #9627, Bloomington American Legion Post #18, Amvets Post #2000 in Bloomington, Mitchell Masonic Lodge #228 F&AM and Scottish Rite Shriners of Evansville. Mike retired in 1993 from Crane with several years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Mike include; two sons, Jason Andrew (Liana) Reed of Odon and Brian Dirk (Lisa) Reed of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Kaitlin (Jayce) Wininger, Alexis (Will) Breeden, Tanner Reed, Evan Dane Reed, Madison Paige (Drew) Lengacher and Sydnie Reed; six great-grandchildren, Evelyn Wininger, Isla Wininger, Josie Breeden, Jemma Breeden, Jayde Lengacher and Ellie Shuler.

Mike was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Pauline Reed; his wife, Teresa Reed and sister, Yvonna Flynn.

Funeral services and military graveside rites will be private for the family. Mike will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery at a later date.

There will be no public viewing or services.
