Obituary

Reavia L. DeVore, 87, of Lyons, Indiana, went to Heaven on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at her home, with family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Edwin Clifford and Edith Josephine (Starkey) Savage. Reavia married the love of her life, Gerald D. DeVore on June 26, 1954.

Reavia was a member of the Lyons Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was involved in Women’s Ministries. She was a homemaker and retired in 1995 with 25 years of service at Western Electric. She enjoyed gardening her flowers, cooking and caring for her grandchildren.

Family left to cherish the memory of Reavia include: daughter, Patricia J. Garland of Lyons; daughter-in-law, Wanda DeVore of Noblesville, IN; five grandchildren, Chris (Cassie) DeVore, Matthew (Natasha) DeVore, John (Stephanie) Stanley, Joey Stanley and Jenny (Davey) Reed; thirteen great-grandchildren and brother, Edwin Savage, Jr. of Westfield, IN.

Reavia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald DeVore; son, Gerald DeVore, Jr.; three sisters, Audrey Smith, Ellen Masters and Nancy Huffines.

Funeral services to honor the life of Reavia will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bro. Stuart Frampton officiating. Reavia will be laid to rest in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions be made to the Gideons in memory of Reavia. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
