Richard I. 'Dick' Wade, 75, of Washington, Indiana, passed from this life to Heaven peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 22, 1948, in Washington to Victor and Velma (Gress) Wade. Dick married the love of his life, Sandra J. (Myers) Wade on November 24, 1973.

Dick was a member, Elder and Treasurer at the Plainville Christian Church. He was a crop farmer and in the off season, enjoyed being a mechanic on vehicles.  He was an avid Purdue fan and alumni. In his former years, he enjoyed tractor pulling and was an equipment operator for McBride Excavating.

Family left to cherish the memory of Dick include: his wife, Sandy Wade; two daughters, Christi (Steve) Wilson of Montgomery and Gena (Ty) Freed of Plainville; one son, Mark (Betsy) Wade of Evansville; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Gage, Sydney, Kasey, Rex, Lanie, Zoe and Elliott; his mother, Velma Wade of Plainville; one brother, Carl (Sheila) Wade of Plainville; two sisters, Vicki (Bob) Sluss of Plainville and Connie Smith of Texas.

Dick was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Plainville Christian Church, Plainville, Indiana, with Ashley Shurtz officiating. Dick will be laid to rest in Plainville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the church.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Plainville Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
