Robert Edward Wilkes, 80, of Dugger, Indiana, passed from this life with loved ones by his side, on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born on November 24, 1945 in Sullivan, Indiana to Edward and Madge Mural (Hurst) Wilkes. Ed married his loving wife, Brenda I. (Leigh) Wilkes on November 22, 1968.

Ed served in the US National Guard and was of the Christian faith. He worked as a Machinist at Stringer Welding and then Numerical Concepts, Inc. before retiring in 2013. Ed enjoyed lawn work, playing golf and fishing.

Family left to cherish the memories of Ed include his wife, Brenda Wilkes; two sons, Jeff (Elizabeth) Wilkes and Greg Wilkes, both of Dugger; two granddaughters, Addison Wilkes and Ava Wilkes; brother, John Wilkes of Linton and sister, Sara (Harold) Chaney of Dugger.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Gerran Taylor Wilkes and brother, Bill Wilkes.

Honoring Ed’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
