IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Lee
Beasley
January 15, 1938 – March 17, 2026
Funeral Service
Ronald Lee Beasley, 88, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Ronnie was born on January 15, 1938, in Martin County, Indiana, to Alice and Harley Beasley. He had a lively childhood, growing up on the Harley Beasley Farm surrounded by siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The Beasley family often recounts stories that reflect a life filled with hard farm work, close family bonds, and plenty of laughter and mischief. Ronnie grew up in Raglesville, Indiana, and graduated from Loogootee High School.
Ronnie proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Diane (Smith) Beasley. He often shared the story of picking her up for their first date in his brand-new yellow 1957 Chevy, a moment he liked to say sealed the deal. Ronnie went on to build a long and fulfilling career as a weapons mechanic at Crane until his retirement. One of the highlights of his career was the opportunity to manage prop weapons on the film set of War and Remembrance .
Ronnie found joy in life's simple pleasures: carefully tending to his yard, watching traffic pass by, enjoying soft-serve ice cream, playing euchre, feeding local cats, and keeping a close eye on the weather. His life was grounded in a steady and enduring faith, reflected in his lifelong commitment to his church, Frady Community Chapel and his community. Above all, he cherished his family. Being a husband, father, and grandfather was the greatest joy of his life.
His family remembers him for his honesty and candor, his childlike sense of humor and wonder, and his steady, intentional way of living. Ronnie taught those around him that presence does not require constant words. Though he was a quiet man, when he spoke, people listened- whether it was for a well-timed joke, a colorful story, or a thoughtful observation. He loved in a way that was consistent, grounded, and expressed through his actions.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Diane (Smith) Beasley; his son, Harley Scott Beasley; his daughter-in-law, Liann Tsoukas Beasley; his grandchildren, Athanasia (Sia), Lee Todd, and Diana Beasley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Todd Beasley; and his siblings: Gary Beasley, John Beasley, Wallace Beasley, John Edwin Beasley, Camilla Overton, Irene Sims, Gertrude Kemp, Ava Gee, and Geraldine Harris.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Ronnie will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery following military graveside rites conducted by Odon VFW Post #9627.
Ronnie's memory will live on in the hearts of the many people who knew and loved him. When we think of him, we will remember his deep love, gentle eyes that made you feel seen and safe, and bright smile that lit up every room.
