Ruth E. Cunningham, 82, of Linton, IN, passed away with family by her side, on Friday, March 18, 2022, at her residence.  She was born on December 29, 1939, in Dugger, IN to Samuel and Agnes (Hatfield) Parks.  She married Billy J. Cunningham on June 11, 1999.

Ruth worked for the Linton-Stockton School Corporation in the elementary cafeteria for many years and retired in 2004.  She enjoyed spending time with the family, especially her grandchildren.

Family left to cherish Ruth's memories include: three daughters, Ellen (Gordon) Gawthorp of IL, Tracey (John) Maguire of MA and Lisa (Craig) Long of WI; a son, Terry Cunningham of Linton; a stepson, David (Michelle) Pearson, of Linton; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Mason of Linton; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Cunningham (September 18, 2021), her parents, a grandson, Samuel Maguire, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the Meng Family Funeral Home / Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest in the Linton Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
