Sally A. (Carr) Markel, 77, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away, with loving family at her side, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, Indiana, on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born on July 18, 1944 to William Kenneth & Helen (Hudson) Carr in Columbia, Louisiana. Sally married the love of her life, Kelly A. Markel, Jr. on October 3, 1965.

Sally was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was employed at Crane, where she worked for thirteen years.

Family left to cherish the memory of Sally include: two sons, Kelly (Trea) Markel of Washington and Brett (Tonia) Markel of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Alex Markel, Trevor Markel, Savannah Markel, Justin Markel and Austin 'Cheese' Markel; three brothers, Kenneth Carr, Tom Crain and Junior Crain; two sisters, Joyce Hailey Carr Binford and Lorraine Crain Bratton.

Sally was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Kelly Markel, Jr. and brother, Keith Crain.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Richard Crabtree officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
