Steven Lynn McDonald, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 75, at the Daviess Community Hospital ER on Sunday, August 2, 2026, after a lengthy illness of 5 years. He was born on December 19, 1950, in Washington, Indiana to Kenneth and Mildred (Trowbridge) McDonald. Steven married his wife of 44 years, Brenda (Andis) McDonald on March 20, 1982

Steven was a graduate of Washington High School in 1969. He was an outstanding baseball player in high school. Later on, he played slow and fast pitch softball on several teams and helped coach a women’s softball team. Steven also bowled for different teams in Washington. Watching all kinds of sports was very enjoyable to him. He was a big fan of Dale Murphy and the Atlanta Braves, having gone to Atlanta for 35 years to watch them play. Steven worked in the paint business at Sherwin Williams and MAB, at the Daviess County Sheriff Department and finally at Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon.

Family left to cherish the memory of Steven include his wife, Brenda McDonald of Odon; his son, Tyler McDonald of Odon; brother, Richard McDonald of Franklin, TN; sister, Cherie (Darrell) Arnett of Washington, IN; sister-in-law, Judy Palmer of Mocksville, NC; nieces and nephews, Alan (Melissa) McDonald of Franklin, TN, Scott (Leisa) McDonald of Chandler, AZ, Mindy (Jeff) McCrary of Vincennes, IN, Heather (Brian) Oxley of Dale, IN, Eric (Tessa) Palmer of Mesa, AZ and Dr. Rebecca (Rob) Ketner of Winston-Salem, NC.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Shirley McDonald; parents-in-law, Gilbert and Doris Andis and brother-in-law, Mike Palmer.

Private family funeral services to honor the life of Steven will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Ken Fuller officiating.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
