Steven Shumaker, 65, of Ellendale, ND died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Steven Charles Shumaker was born in Bloomington, IN to Kenneth and Catherine Shumaker on August 15, 1957.

Steven went to high school at Edgewood H.S. and graduated in 1975. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies, which included Pastoral Care from Trinity Bible College. He received his certificate in Chaplaincy via Reverend Peter Holland in Aberdeen, SD. Steven worked as a Chaplain for 12+ years. He enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing with the grandkids, attending concerts, and traveling with his family.

Steven was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Wayne Shumaker and his mother Catherine Louise Shumaker of Bloomington, IN.

Steven is survived by his wife, Kimberly Shumaker of Ellendale, ND, his brother, Michael Shumaker (Ellettsville, IN), Kathy (Roger) Durham (Noblesville, IN), Lisa Keough (Bloomington, IN), son, Steven D. Shumaker (Ellendale), daughter, Ashley Martin (Ray) (Ellendale), son, Bradley (Janelle) Shumaker (Wisconsin), and daughter, Sarah Shumaker (Daniel) (Ellendale). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie Huber (13), Karlie Huber (11), Brandie Huber (9), Kenneth Huber (7), Maggie Moreno (17 months) and his nieces, Angela (Nick) Shoemaker and Kristin Keough.

The funeral service is 10:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Church of the Nazarene, Ellendale, ND with Pastor Kelly Riggan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Steven's service will be live streamed on his obituary page at hovenfuneralchapel.com.

A Military Graveside service presented by the Odon VFW Post #9627 will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, IN at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 23, 2023.
