Obituary

Timothy (Buddy) Edwin Dove

On September 30, 2024, at the age of 44, Buddy Dove passed away at his home from sudden cardiac arrest.

Buddy was born on April 14, 1980, in Indianapolis, but was raised in Farlen where, for the majority of his life, he called it home.

From a young age, Buddy faced a life of hardships and challenges. As an older child, he was adopted by his mom and dad, Brenda and Robert Dove. Buddy was the oldest of three siblings with a younger sister (Elizabeth) and a younger brother (Christopher). Buddy and his siblings often spent days entertaining themselves playing baseball on a diamond they made in a field, jumping off garages to see if they could float like Mary Poppins and throwing each other out of go carts on a track they made at home.

Buddy was a 1998 graduate of North Daviess High School. Following graduation, Buddy completed boot camp in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was a proud member of the Indiana National Guard serving out of the Washington Armory. In 2003, Buddy deployed to Iraq with the 152nd Infantry unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Across his lifetime, Buddy drew great pride and patriotism in his service to his county!

Buddy also took pride in his family. His love for his nieces and nephew has always been immeasurable. He celebrated their successes and beamed as a proud uncle.

Buddy was a jack of all trades and was always willing to be a helping hand to his family and friends. In helping others, he took on multiple roles of cat sitter to mechanic, and everything in between. He enjoyed being outside mushroom hunting, working on vehicles and tinkering around his latest project.

Buddy will be lovingly missed and remembered by his mother, Brenda Dove (Dale Evans) of Odon; his sister, Elizabeth (Cosby) Hilderbrand of Bloomfield; his three nieces, Izabelle, Amya and Kelsey Hilderbrand of Bloomfield; his nephew, Braden Wagler of Evansville; his aunt, Wilma (Chris) Davis-Miller of Washington and his cousin, Brittany (Jacob) Rowe of Washington.

Buddy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Priscilla May Kaiser; his father, Robert Dove; his uncle, Bill Kaiser, and his baby brother, Christopher Dove.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Adam Cissell officiating. Buddy will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon following military rites presented by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024  and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Arrangements and care were entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.mengfuneralhome.com.
