Verna Joan Peterson, 82, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born on November 30, 1942 in Niles, Michigan to Donald and Virginia (Mullins) Burton. Verna married Wilbur Adolphus Stantz on June 30, 1979.

Verna was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and the Bloomfield Order of Eastern Star. She retired after working 30 years in customer service at Allstate Insurance Company.

Family left to cherish the memories of Verna include: two sons, Michael (Martha) Solliday of Switz City and John Solliday of Sullivan; two grandchildren, Michael Solliday and Patricia Solliday.

Verna was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Wilbur Stantz; one brother, Gilbert Burton and a nephew.

Funeral services to honor the life of Verna will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Warren Shake officiating. Verna will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
