Obituary

Violet M. Hair, 87, of Attica, formerly of Linton, IN, passed away Friday, December 29th, 2006, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center. Born in Linton, IN, on April 18, 1919, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Vincent) Pritchard. On January 11, 1936, she married Ernest "Ernie" Hair. Violet worked as a clerk at The GC Murphy Department Store for many years and after retirement, returned to homemaking. She was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and the Country Corner Home Extension Club. Violet was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain.
Surviving are two daughters: Jean (Larry) Miller of Linton, IN, and Janice Franklin of Carbondale, IL; five grandchildren: Pamela Thompson (Bill) Miller, whom she raised, Julie (Bill) Tanner, Bob (Scarlett) Barker, Jamie (Billy) Simpson, and Jannell Franklin; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers: Don Pritchard of Plant City, FL and Jack Pritchard of Seminole, FL and one sister: Norma Yancey of Plant City, FL.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Ernest Hair, one daughter: Dixie (Hair) Thompson, and one son: Donald Ray Hair, one grandson: Terry Hair, and one sister: Thelma Benefield.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday, January 3rd. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007, at 11:00 AM with Brother Nick Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
