Wayne E. Anderson, 89, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1930 in Emison, Indiana to Joshua A. and Cynthia (Burris) Anderson. Wayne married his loving wife of 70 years, Alice A. (Myers) Anderson on September 24, 1949.

Wayne was a member of the Sandborn First Christian Church, where he was the song leader for several years, the Masonic Lodge F & AM and the Sandborn Class of 1948. Wayne was a farmer, worked at Wickes Lumber Co. and then drove for AM Risher Trucking with several years of service before his retirement. He enjoyed sports on television and especially liked watching his grandchildren play sports.

Family left to cherish the memory of Wayne include: his wife, Alice Anderson; daughter, Shari (KD) Hostetter of Lyons; son, Roger Anderson of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Marc (Nikki) Hostetter, Brock (Ericka) Hostetter and Amy (Dan) Delaney; eleven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bryce Abe Anderson of Edwardsport, John Anderson of Lubbock, TX, Curt (Maye) Anderson of Sandborn and David (Heidi) Anderson of Linton and a sister-in-law, Babe Anderson of Westphalia.

Wayne was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Virginia Stanton, Marjorie Stevens and Dolores Hollingsworth; brothers, his twin, Wendell Anderson and Sherman Anderson.

Funeral services to honor the memory of Wayne will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Sandborn Christian Church with Bryan Sanders officiating. Wayne will be laid to rest in Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 27 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
