Obituary

Wilma Jean Swartzentruber, 85, of Loogootee, Indiana, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born on May 8, 1941, in Montgomery, IN to Peter and Katie Ann (Lengacher) Miller. Alvin Swartzentruber took Wilma Miller as his lawfully wedded wife in February of 1961.

Wilma was a member of the Providence Mennonite Church. She was homemaker and had worked in manufacturing.

Surviving is her son, Marlin (Marlene) Swartzentruber; grandson, Alvin James Swartzentruber; granddaughters, Brooke (Darin) Raber and Taylor (Jaylen Lengacher) Swartzentruber. Brothers, Paul (Ruby) Miller, Dale (Mary Teresa) Miller, sisters, Ada (John) Kemp, Lilly (James) Fuhs, Barabara Kendrick and Joyce Kauffman. Great-grandchildren; Silas Swartzentruber, Chase Swartzentruber, Creed Raber, and Roman Raber. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Cathy Swartzentruber, brothers, David Miller, James Miller and sisters, Susie Mullet and Ruth Graber.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at First Mennonite Church with Kevin Swartzentruber officiating. Wilma will be laid to rest in First Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Providence Mennonite Church and from 9 AM until hour service Monday at the First Mennonite Church.
