Barbara J. (Bechtel) Miller

Barbara J. Miller, 89, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away with her loved ones beside her, on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Ketcham Memorial Center at Odon. She was born on November 3, 1930 in Daviess County, Indiana to Edward A. and Fern (Bowers) Bechtel. Barbara married Charles John Miller on November 27, 1947.

Barbara was a member of the Elnora Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess, the Elnora Rebekah Lodge and Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her home and family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Barbara include: one son, J. Steven Miller of Newburgh; two daughters, Pamela (Mike) Rader of Bloomfield and Kristi Davis of Newburgh; four grandchildren, Jordan and Jason Rader, Joshua and Lucas Miller; two great-grandchildren, Carly Joy and Ellyse Marie Rader; five sisters, Alice Witsman of Elnora, Shirley Hardy, of Bloomington, Violet Arthur of Bloomfield, Wilma Harp of Worthington and Dorothy Doyle of Washington.

Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Charles John Miller; sisters, Mary Grove, Virginia Hardy and Beverly Taylor; brothers, Ralph and Rex Bechtel.

Funeral services to honor the life of Barbara will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Elnora Christian Church with Jim Pieper officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 22 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elnora Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
