Carolyn Sue Poole

Carolyn S. Poole, 71, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side, on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Springhill Village in Terre Haute. She was born on October 28, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Carolyn married her loving husband, John R. Poole on August 18, 1967.

Carolyn worked at the Happy Co. factory until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed traveling and family time.

Family left to cherish the memory of Carolyn include: her husband, John R. Poole; two sons, John (Donna) Poole of Worthington and Thomas (Tammy) Poole of Clay City; daughter, April (Ryan Dalton) Day of Clay City; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; her mother, Roxie Henley of Franklin, IN; brother, Benton (Rhonda) Sammons and sister, Johanna (Vernon) Martindale, both of Franklin.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Donald Henley and a sister, Patty Jo Stone.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Adam Cissell officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Kilgore Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
