David Cook Obituary

David L. Cook, 81, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on August 14, 1938 to Dabner & Christine (Kinser) Cook, Sr. in Sweeden, Kentucky. He married his loving wife, Shirley (Cunningham) Cook on May 24, 1957.

David was a member of Odon First Christian Church, where he was a past deacon, and recently attended New Beginning Church in Loogootee. He was a Shriner and 50-year member of Odon Masonic Lodge. David was an insurance agent with Prudential for 20 years, drove a school bus for 10 years for North Daviess and was a scheduler for Indiana Home Health Care for 10 years.

Family left to cherish the memories of David include: his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Brenda (Doug) Chapin of Odon, Debbie (Kevin) Crane of Bloomfield and Tammy (David) Neill of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Dabner (Treva) Cook, Jr. and his loyal dog, Copper.

David was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joan Sipes and Cecil Pierce.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Brother Dick Smith and Pastor Ernie Canell officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of David to New Beginnings Church, PO Box 319, Loogootee, IN 47553.
