David W. ‘Colonel’ Yagle, 78, of Sandborn, IN, passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born on June 20, 1941, in Knox County, IN, to Clarence H. ‘Jim’ and Mable A. (Myers) Yagle.
Colonel was a farmer his entire life and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church, the Carlisle IOOF Lodge #50 and the French Club of Bicknell. In his leisure time, Colonel enjoyed latch hooking, tinkering with his toy trains, and cruising Sandborn in his golf cart. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
Family left to cherish Colonel’s memory include: his brother, Jimmie F. Yagle of Sandborn; nephew J. (Pam) Yagle of Sandborn; niece, Janessa (Kyle) Crabtree of Plainfield; great nieces and nephews, Nate (Amber) Yagle of Sandborn and Lacey (Clayton) Ramsey of Odon and Jordan (JoDee) Templeton of Avon; great-great nieces and nephew, Madison and Cash Ramsey and Jayla Templeton.
Colonel was preceded in death by his parents
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2019, at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, with Bryan Sanders officiating. Colonel will be laid to rest in the Sandborn Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2019, and from 9:00 AM on Monday until the hour of service at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Colonel may be made to the Sandborn United Methodist Church or the Sandborn Christian Church.
