Edwin Ray Hart

Edwin Ray Hart, 68, left this earth on July 23, 2022, after fighting several chronic health conditions. He resided at Prairie Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, Indiana the last six years. He was born on June 20, 1954, in Washington to Ray Orris and Martha (Clinton) Hart of Odon.

Edwin attended Odon United Methodist Church. He lived in Daviess County, Indiana his entire life, participating in Boy Scouts in his youth and then graduating from North Daviess High School in 1973. Edwin worked on the family farm and provided transportation for the community. He enjoyed camping with his parents, his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Edwin “never met a stranger”, loved talking to people and always had a joke or story to tell. He was a huge fan of NASCAR, IU Basketball, Colts Football, and collected all types of sports memorabilia as well as other items. Edwin especially enjoyed going to Dinky’s Auction on Friday nights, but he was most proud of his son, Ross.

Family left to cherish the memories of Edwin include: his son, Ross (Janice) Hart of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Isaac Matthew Hart, Hunter Ray Emmons, Adrionna Marie Hart, Remington Marie Hart and Logan Ray Hart; brother, Gary W. (Kristy) Hart of Williamsport, IN; niece, Anne (Will) Lesko of Brownsburg, nephew, Aaron Hart of Williamsport; and great-nieces, Harper and Avery.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Martha Hart.

Funeral services to honor the life of Edwin will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Edwin will be laid to rest in Sugarland Mausoleum in Washington.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Edwin’s memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
