Frances J (Slatton) Mayhugh

Frances J. Mayhugh, 91, formerly of Plainville, Indiana, passed into her Lord’s arms Thursday, September 4, 2020, at Parkview Village Christian Care. She was born on August 12, 1929 in Daviess County to Albert and Virginia (Stites) Slatton. She was married to John W. Mayhugh on April 25, 1947.

Family members left to cherish Frances include: her daughter Becky Burch and her husband Mike Burch of Odon; her grandchildren Angel (Tim) Tarvin of Franklin, Indiana and Holly George of Solsberry, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Lillian Tarvin, Madelyn Tarvin, Addison George and Jeremiah Tarvin.

Frances was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, son Jerry and a brother Paul Eugene Slatton.

Frances enjoyed attending Indiana University Basketball and Football with her husband, an avid IU fan for many years. She always loved being with her family and friends, especially those “girls’ from her grade school and high school years.

Visitation for Frances will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am followed by the funeral services at 11:00 am with Derl Litrell officiating. Frances will be laid to rest in Plainville Cemetery in Plainville, Indiana. All arrangements have been entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon.
