James N. Bickley

James N. Bickley, 69, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Bloomington. He was born on February 2, 1952, in Milan, Indiana to James E. and Annabelle (Beckwith) Bickley. James married his loving wife, Debra J. (Slaven) Bickley on August 24, 1996. 

Jim was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church, Odon VFW Post #9627, past Post Commander of the Odon American Legion, the Odon Lions Club and IOOF Oddfellows Lodge in Bloomfield. Jim was an Electronic Tech with NWSC Crane, retiring in 2014 with 33 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, was a professional musician and had a Juke Box Jockey DJ Service. Jim was a faithful loving husband who cherished precious moments with his family. He had a deep compassion for his community to make it a better place to live.  
 
Family left to cherish the memory of Jim include: his wife, Debbie Bickley; son, Aaron (Jennifer K.) Bickley of Nashville, IN; daughter, Jennifer D. Tomes of Hindsboro, IL; his father, James E. Bickley of Odon; six grandchildren, Makeisha, Melody, Luke, Noble, Madison and Megan; two great-grandchildren, Xavier and Henry.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Annabelle (Beckwith) Bickley and brother, Roger Cole Bickley.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Jeff Williams and Rev. Rex Thomas officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Newberry following full military graveside rites by the US Navy Honor Guard and the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 26 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
