James E. Bickley

James E. Bickley, 94, of Odon, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. He was born on June 26, 1927 in Odon, Indiana to James H. and Bessie (Fisher) Bickley. James was married to his loving wife, Annabelle (Beckwith) Bickley until her passing in 2007.

James served in the Army during the Korean War and Merchant Marines in WWII.  He was a member of Odon Methodist Church and was a lifetime VFW member of Odon, American Legion and Odd Fellows. James was in boiler operation at Crane before retiring.

Family left to Cherish the memory of James include: grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer K) Bickley of Nashville, IN, Jennifer D. Tomes of Hindsboro, IL, Andy (Tonya) Bickley of Elnora, Stacy (Heath) Catt of Linton; great-grandchildren, Makeisha, Melody, Luke, Noble, Madison, Megan, Kane, Gabby, Molly Jo, Austin; great-great-grandchildren, Xavier and Henry.

James was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Annabelle Bickley; sons, James N. Bickley, Roger Cole Bickley; brothers, Eddie Joe Bickley, Jack Bickley; sisters, Flo,  Bluie, Susie and Norma.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Aaron Bickley officiating. James will be laid to rest in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Newberry following military graveside rites by Odon VFW.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
