Joan (Correll) Richardson

Joan (Correll) Richardson, 89, of Odon, Indiana passed away with loved ones by her side, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in Odon, Indiana. She was born on September 11, 1933 in Odon to Alonzo and Anna (Haverstock) Correll. Joan married Lester V. Richardson in April of 1952.

Joan was a member of the Odon First Christian Church and lifetime member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. She retired in 1996 from Crane Naval Base. Joan enjoyed watching NASCAR races.

Family left to cherish the memory of Joan include: two sons, Steve (Deeda) Richardson and Mark Richardson, both of Odon; four grandchildren, Melissa Noel, Colleen (Kerry) McKinney, Megan (Matt) Hickey and Bobbie (Kevin) Byrer; six great-grandchildren, Cody, Keira, Kegan, Gracie, Chance and Aunalee.

Joan was preceded in death by: her parents, Alonzo Correll and Anna Correll Merkel; her husband, Lester Richardson; grandson, Mark William Richardson; brother, Danny Merkel and sister, Betty Martin.

Funeral services are at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with DJ Healy officiating. Joan will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
