Leona M. (Sims) Boyd

Leona M. Boyd, 80, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. She was born on January 29, 1942 in Raglesville, Indiana to Alden and Geneva (Chestnut) Sims. Leona married the love of her life, Howard Boyd, on July 28, 1959.

Leona worked for many years at the drug store at Yorks.  She enjoyed most of all being a homemaker, taking care of her husband, children and home. Leona loved being a grandmother, great-grandmother and time spent with her family.

Family left to cherish the memories of Leona include: her husband, Howard Boyd; two sons, Bob (Tracey) Boyd and Mike (Lana) Boyd, both of Odon; grandchildren, Ashlee Ballard, Stephen Boyd, Brittany Carroll and Katie Pullis; great-grandchildren, Landon Ballard, Tristen Ballard, Addilyn Ballard and Kyra Pullis.

Leona was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Alden Ray Sims and grandson, Bobby Boyd.

Funeral services to honor the life of Leona will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Matthew Smith officiating. Leona will be laid to rest in Raglesville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
