Loessa E. (Royal) Hayes

Loessa E. Hayes, 82, of Odon, Indiana, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon with her loved ones by her side. She was born on January 6, 1940, in Danbury, Connecticut to Alpha Dexter and Catherine Maxine (Bucher) Royal. Loessa married Larry Edward Hayes and they shared many wonderful together years until his passing.

Loessa was a member of the Church of Christ in Bloomfield and Washington. She was a homemaker and worked as a day care giver and was a co-owner/operator at ABC Mini School in Bloomfield.

Family left to cherish the memory of Loessa include, daughters, Candis (Darrell) Jackson, Angela (Mike) Ruppel, Melanie (Mike) Campbell, sons, Matt Hayes, Chris (Lisa Baugh) Hayes, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Suzi Felton and Yvette Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Loessa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Hayes, grandsons, Ian and Ethan Hayes, her brother James ‘Butch’ Royal and infant sister, Candace Royal, and granddaughter-in-law Maegan Hayes.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Loessa held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, September 19, 2022, at Meng Family Funeral Home, 616 E Elnora St, Odon, IN.  Burial will follow later in the Antioch Cemetery, Bloomfield.  The Hayes family has requested for those who wish, memorial contributions be made to the Antioch Cemetery Fund.
