Robert D. Anderson

Robert D. Anderson, 93, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Prairie Village Nursing Home in Washington. He was born on February 6, 1928 in Greene County, Indiana to Thomas L. and Beatrice (Dobson) Anderson. Robert was married to Frances D. Anderson.

Robert was a US Army veteran and a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post #196. He retired from Crane in 1976 with 32 years of service and then worked as a carpenter for 16 more years. He loved to fish and hunt, his passion was to travel.

Family left to cherish the memory of Robert include: one son, Jay Anderson of Elnora; three daughters, Roberta F. (Robert) Young of Owensburg, Nancy (Bob) Butcher of Loogootee and Vicki L. (Larry) Meek of Odon; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice L. Bailey and former wives, Betty and Juanita.

Robert was preceded in death by: his parents; his wives, Frances D. Anderson and Janice Anderson; infant daughters, Rebecca Jane, Teresa Elaine and Rebecca Diane; brothers, Vanus E. Anderson, Vernon L. Anderson and Garner F. Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon following military rites provided by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
