Rosie (Wagler) Wittmer

Rosie Wittmer, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Parkview Village Christian Care, Odon, Indiana. She was born October 21, 1929, in Montgomery, Indiana, the daughter of Simon and Edith Wagler. She was married nearly 73 years to Wilmer Wittmer, who preceded her in death on February 23, 2022. 

Rosie and Wilmer worked together in the family farming business. For many years they traveled to Orange Beach, Alabama, with their family. They enjoyed winters in Sarasota, Florida. She was very energetic and maintained a beautiful vegetable garden. She enjoyed cooking and hosting friends and family. She will be missed.

Rosie is survived by her children, Darrell (Karen) Wittmer, Dorothy (Tim) Ellis, Sharon (Pete) Mallatt, and Linda (Bruce) Boje, grandchildren, Tim, Joan and Beth Ellis, Christina Kamelhair, Natalie Groff, Leigh and Matthew Boje, and David and Michael Wittmer, great grandchildren, Elena and Nora Groff, Paige and Leo Kamelhair, and Ruth, Aaron Wilmer and Jacob Wittmer, her brother, Joe Wagler, sisters Jean (Ervin) Yoder, and Mildred (Simon) Lengacher, and sister-in-law, Nancy Wittmer.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Edith Wagler, husband, Wilmer Wittmer, sisters, Lillie Catherine Raber, Viola Wittmer and Dorothy Wagler, sister-in-law, Agnes Wittmer, brothers-in-law, Elmer, Amos and Ora Wittmer and Bill Raber.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and the staff at Parkview and Southern Care Hospice for all the loving care they provided Rosie.

A private service with the family was held at the Meng Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Kevin Swartzentruber of Providence Mennonite Church officiating. Rosie and Wilmer were members of Providence Mennonite Church for many years.
