Scott Edward Borter, DVM

Scott Edward Borter, DVM, 55, of Odon, Indiana, passed from this life on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Odon. He was born on June 24, 1964 in Daviess County, Indiana to Edward E. and Patricia (Sipes) Borter. Dr. Scott had owned and operated the Bloomfield Veterinary Clinic for over 30 years.

Scott was a member of the Odon United Methodist Church, Purdue Alumni, AVMA, Greene County Veterinarian and was a Greene County Humane Society Board Member. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, (especially quail and deer), horseback riding and tractor rides with his granddaughter McKynleigh.  He was a great mentor and the lover of life, laughter, telling jokes and going out to eat with his family. Time spent outdoors with friends and family water skiing, snowboarding, riding roller coasters and bailing hay were some of his favorites. Las Vegas was his favorite place to visit. His true passion was caring for animals and it was evident in his work. He will be sorely missed in the surrounding communities.

Family left to cherish the memory of Scott include: parents, Ed and Pat Borter of Odon, his son, Daniel Scott (Madisyn) Borter of Odon; his daughter, Andrea Kay Borter (Jordan McKinney) of Odon; and granddaughter, McKynleigh Borter; sisters,  Christa (Jeff) Beasley and Tina (Donnie) McCullough both of Odon; his niece, Whitney McKee; nephews, Derek (Kayna) Clidienst, Dusty (Zulmy) McCullough and two great nieces, Karli and Milly Clidienst.

Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Paul and Ina Sipes and paternal grandparents Earl and Golda Borter.

Funeral services to honor the life of Scott will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Odon United Methodist Church in Odon with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Scott will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30 at the church.
