Shirley M. (Cornelius) Moody

Shirley M. Moody, 96, of Odon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon. She was born on May 21, 1923 in Daviess County, Indiana to Oscar and Gladys (Edwards) Cornelius. Shirley became the wife of Robert E. Moody on October 28, 1944.

Shirley was a member of the Odon United Methodist Church and the Odon Chapter of Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her home and family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Shirley include: three daughters, Brenda (John) Brazelton of Evansville, Sandy (Byron) Overton and Toni (Jack) Williams, both of Odon; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morris Cornelius and Norman Cornelius, both of Odon.

Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert Moody; one son, James Moody; two brothers, Lloyd and Ray Cornelius; two sisters, Modene Fyffe and Marilyn Wade.

Private funeral services to honor the life of Shirley will be at 12 Noon on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.

Immediate family may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Odon United Methodist Church, 602 E. Elnora St., Odon, IN 47562, in memory of Shirley. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
