Sue Ann (Evans) Fisher

Sue Ann (Evans) Fisher, 83, was born to Hayes (1903-1971) and Mary Alice (Stuffle) (1915-2001) Evans in Daviess County, IN, on June 5, 1938, and departed this Earth for her Heavenly Home on February 21, 2022. Sue graduated from Odon High School in 1955, and she married Ronnie Fisher on June 8, 1957.

Sue and Ronnie’s three sons, all of Odon, IN, are Doug (Jennie), Jim (Diane), and Dave (Sherry) Fisher; their grandchildren are Angie Fisher of Paris, IL, Bailee Fisher of Newburgh, IN, Tucker Fisher of Bloomfield, IN, R.J. Fisher of Odon, IN, Whitney Fisher of Avon, IN, Kari (Sean) Gallagher of Odon, IN, and Damon (Cecorra) Meek of Loogootee, IN. Their great-grandchildren are Ava Fisher, Olivia Fisher, Fallon Gallagher, Kane Gallagher, all of Odon, IN, Mason Meek of Evansville, IN, and Kylen Holt of Loogootee, IN. Sue’s siblings are Pat (Bruce) Miller of Dexter, MO, Bill (Diana) Evans of Bloomington, IN, and Sally Evans of Greenwood, IN; Sue’s sister Janet (Fred) Potts of Odon, IN, predeceased her in 1987. Sue also leaves behind three generations of nieces and nephews, several family members who entered her life through her marriage to Ronnie, multiple friends and former co-workers, and her recently-adopted “family” members who had been her caregivers and co-residents at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.

Sue grew up on the farm next to the Raglesville Cemetery, and she lived most of her life in or near Raglesville. In addition to being a homemaker, Sue’s work career included Dearmin’s in Odon, Loogootee Textile, RCA in Bloomington, and the Naval Ammunition Depot currently known as the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane where she worked until retirement. Sue was very involved in the activities of the Frady Memorial United Methodist Church and of the Van Buren Homemakers Club, both at Raglesville. At various times in her life, Sue enjoyed participating in roller skating, bowling, ping pong in the garage, volleyball in the yard, card games at the kitchen table, family trips to watch Cincinnati Reds baseball games, and shopping. Sue loved playing games, and her favorites were Rook, Euchre, and Scrabble. Because of the frequency of visitors at Sue’s and Ron’s house, Sue worked to make everyone feel at home by providing an endless variety of snacks and quickly put-together-at-the-last-minute meals, thereby earning her the nickname of “Skillet” bestowed upon her by one of Ronnie’s friends.

For those wishing to honor Sue’s life, memorial contributions may be made to the Frady Memorial United Methodist Church in Raglesville or the Raglesville Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral services to remember the life of Sue will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Following the service, Sue will be laid to rest near her two families in the Raglesville Cemetery.

Sue’s family and friends will gather for visitation from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 24 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
