Thomas M. Byrer

Thomas M. Byrer, 72, of Odon, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on January 17, 1947 in Daviess County, Indiana to Thomas Lester and Virginia Rose (Butcher) Byrer. He married his loving wife, Norma L. (Hunt) Byrer on June 29, 1991.

Thomas worked at Crane, then maintenance at Raglesville and North Daviess Schools. He retired in 2009 with 37 years of service. Thomas enjoyed watching westerns and sci-fi movies, collecting pocket watches and coins. He loved gardening.

Family left behind to cherish Thomas’ memory include: his wife, Norma L. Byrer of Odon; daughters, Melissa (Jim) Miles of Washington and Susan (Marc) Graber of Odon; son, Matt Byrer of Jasper; step-daughter, Tonya (Derek) Sheetz of Odon; step-son, Joe Thomas ‘JT’ Farthing III of Vincennes; six grandchildren, Josh, Frank ‘Rick’, Sara, Audrey, Kendall and Jake; brother, Jim (Carol) Byrer of Elnora.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends is scheduled for 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon. Thomas will be laid to rest in Byrer Kilgore Cemetery in Odon at a later date.
